Media Converter Modules
At the head end of a Chameleon system, the Power Patch Panel houses a power supply and the media modules required for
media conversion and power injection. The media modules are configured to match the remote GatorLink configurations,
providing copper/fiber media conversion for the desired number of channels and connecting any ‘pass-through’ fiber
channels as well.
Media converters slide into the slots of our Power Patch Panel and ‘blind-mate’ with a
power connector on the back of the unit. A multi-fiber MTP® connector interface brings up to 12
fibers into the unit in a compact space. For single channel applications, the media modules are available
with LC ports.

On the front, standard RJ-45 connections are available for copper connections and LC fiber connectors can be
added for pass-through fiber channels.
The Media modules tie in to LinkMap software for configuration information, alarming and remote device mapping.
(LinkMap must be purchased with the Power Patch Panel).
Indicators show active channels and an LED will light if a remote locate button is pushed at the far end of the
channel (on the GatorLink). This is a big help when mapping network links or doing any troubleshooting.
