Fiber Optic Connector Cleaning Products

Fiber Connections offers several unique cleaning products that will assist with decontamination of fiber optic connectors and bulkheads, either in the factory or in the field.

Reel Cleaners
Reel Cleaners are a new compact cassette‐style cleaner now available from Fiber Connections. The densely woven microfiber cloth cleaning system accommodates all single fiber connector types, MTP/MPO male and female connectors, and male and female MT‐RJ connectors. The improved cloth and package design offers cost and time savings compared to competitive cassette cleaners.

Easy to use, one squeeze of the ergonomic lever advances and exposes the required amount of fresh cleaning fabric for each cleaning. This simple, effective design is ideal for field or factory cleaning requirements.

Manufactured by NTT‐AT, the new cleaner has consistently outperformed competing cleaning technologies based on GR‐ 2329 contamination testing requirements. The anti‐static cloth material produces a pristine fiber tip and minimizes contaminant attraction. One cleaning produces .06kV of potential vs. .33kV for other dry cloth cleaners. The cleaning fabric is pre‐washed and produces less than 70 pcs/CFM of particles > 1mm in size; this makes the system excellent for use in any production environment including clean rooms.

Card Cleaners
The Card Cleaning Kit is a dry cloth cleaning system that provides excellent cleaning performance for single fiber connectors such as SC, ST, LC and MU. This unique cleaning kit is designed to minimize storage space and maintain perfect cleanliness of the cleaning cloth. It is perfect for installers and field technicians. It is also an economical way to include an end‐user cleaning solution for sensitive optics components and equipment.

The improved anti‐static material produces a cleaner ferrule that attracts less contamination after cleaning. One cleaning produces 0.06kV of potential vs. 0.33kV for competing technology. Ten consecutive cleanings produce a maximum of – 0.06kV vs. 1.16kV.

The cleaning cloth is pre‐washed, making this system excellent for use in clean rooms due to the low emissions of particles. The cleaning fabric produces less than 70pcs/CFM of particles > 1mm in size compared with others on the market that can produce up to 1000pcs/CFM.

Stick Cleaners
Stick Cleaners are a dry cloth cleaning system that provides excellent cleaning performance for difficult to reach single fiber connectors such as SC, ST, LC and MU, transceiver interfaces, and lenses.

The unique “pipe cleaner” products are designed to clean the outside of single fiber ferrules and the inside of the connector to minimize the chances of debris contaminating the fiber tip.

IBC Cleaners
The IBC (In Bulkhead Cleaner) family of products is designed specifically to clean ferrules while in the bulkhead. The MTP/MPO model’s unique design allows for the cleaning of both pinned (male) and pinless (female) MT ferrules. Now with the new ST/SC IBC and LC IBC, these simplex connectors can effectively be cleaned right in the adapter sleeve.
